Dr Patrick Williams

Dr Patrick Williams

Bsc (hons) MB ChB MRCGP Leeds 1975

Dr Williams is the senior partner and has been with the surgery since 1986.He is married with three grown up children. He is involved with the teaching and training of foundation doctors and GP Registrars. He has a special interest in general medicine and psychiatry.

Dr Arfan Ahmed

Dr Arfan Ahmed

MB ChB DRCOG MRCGP DFFP Dundee 1991

Dr Ahmed has been with the surgery since 2003. As well as routine clinics he performs minor surgery, as do the other GP’s, and in additions provides some joint injections. He is married with three children. His practice interests include informatics and general medicine.

Dr Jane Barnard

Dr Barnard is the newest addition to the practice and has been with the surgery since early 2005. She is married with one child. She currently writes for the Medical Press and is interested in general medicine and women’s health.

Mrs Rita Crowch

Mrs Rita Crowch

Mrs Crowch has been with the surgery since 1982. She co-ordinates the administrative support for the doctors and nurses and plays an essential role in the running of the practice, ensuring all services are provided to a high standard. She is happy to discuss with you any non-clinical problems or general enquires about the practice.

Practice Nurses

Sister Sandie Benham

Sister Sandie Benham, Nurse Practitioner

RGN RSCN BSc (hons)

Sister Benham trained as an RGN and RSCN. She worked originally as a sister of a paediatric ward and then had a family of 3 boys. Following this she has worked in a variety of hospital and community settings including 12 years as a staff nurse in ICU. She joined the surgery in 1989 as a practice nurse and completed a degree in health studies and qualified as a nurse practitioner in 1999. She went on to obtain her extended nurse prescribers qualification in 2002. She is responsible for clinical sessions for patients, able to diagnose, treat and refer independently, and can provide physical, psychological and social care. She also manages chronic disease with a special interest in diabetes and chronic heart disease.

Sister Verity Hurley

Sister Verity Hurley

Trained as an RGN in the Middlesex Hospital, London. She then specialised in intensive care and worked as a sister in ITU at St Mary’s London and then the Royal Surrey, Guildford before then having a family. She continued in nursing working in high dependency wards before joining Monteagle surgery 10 years ago as a practice nurse. She has specialised in asthma and has done further training in this field.

Sister Sue Millard

Sister Sue Millard

Trained as an RGN in Oxford. She started working on medical and surgical wards before then specialising in oncology. She spent 8 years in this speciality doing NHS and private work and also gained experience with health care at home giving home chemotherapy. She joined Monteagle surgery as a practice nurse 5 years ago and has since commenced training to become as nurse practitioner. Her main interest here is family planning.

Mrs Jane Cuthbert

Mrs Jane Cuthbert, Health Care Assistant

Mrs Cuthbert has been working as a HCA here at the surgery since 2004 having gained the NVQ level 2 Qualification. Her past experiences in health care include 5 years as an HCA on a rehabilitation ward, 2 years as an occupational therapy assistant at Frimley Park Hospital and 2 years as a carer in the Yateley community. She has lived in Yateley since 1980. She is responsible for our phlebotomy service running blood test clinics and in addition to this is performs blood pressure checks, ECG’s, hearing test, lifestyle advice, weight monitoring and new patient checks in her clinics.

Mrs Pat Bramley

Mrs Bramley has worked at Monteagle surgery since 1997. As well as assisting the medical team with referrals, performing general administrative tasks and liason with local hospitals and services, she also manages the choose and book referral system within the surgery.

Our receptionists are there to welcome you and help you make the best use of the services the practice offers. During surgery hours they are much in demand but will always try to help you with any queries as sympathetically and efficiently as possible. Any information entrusted to the Receptionists will be treated with the strictest confidence.

District Nurses

District nurses in addition to their general training, have completed a further course to acquire skills and experience to care for people in their own homes. They are skilled at providing and coordinating care for acutely ill, terminally ill and chronically sick people in their own homes. The district nurses can be contacted through the surgery.

Community Midwives

The community midwifes will care for those pregnant patients within the surgery from the start of pregnancy to the early postnatal stage. As well as monitoring and supporting through pregnancy they offer details of parent craft classes and other antenatal support. Antenatal and postnatal clinics are also available at Frimley park Hospital should they be needed. The midwives will explain these facilities to you, should it be necessary, which is very rare. Most babies are delivered at Frimley Park Hospital by our community midwives or staff midwifes. The midwives can be contacted via the surgery or via Frimley Park Hospital switch board
